VINYL – CLEANING TECHNIQUES



Vinyl is an awesome, durable and long lasting flooring material that simulates the appearance of wood, tile and stone. Vinyl flooring has to be cared for properly to avoid irreversible damages to the surface of the flooring. To maintain its brilliant radiance it is essential to take care of spills and stains immediately and avoid usage of any sharp objects to clean the surface of the flooring. Many clients install vinyl flooring in their home and offices because of the ample choice of patterns and designs, durability, sturdiness over time and reasonable cost.

TO PRESERVE ITS RADIANCE

·         Wipe away liquid spills or food spills immediately and prevent them from becoming stubborn stains.
·         Place mats are needed at all entry and exit ways to prevent dirt particles, dust and grit from entering your home or office and avoid scratches on its surface.

·         Use a soft bristle broom or a dust mop to sweep your floor regularly. Vacuum your floor at regular intervals of time to avoid dust accumulation in far to reach areas. Use a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar attachment.

TIPS TO REMOVE STUBBORN STAINS 

·         For food spills that have dried out it is ideal to scrape it gently using a blunt knife and then covering the stain area using a cloth dipped in bleach solution for not more than an hour.

·         Marks, stains can be removed with a damp cloth dipped in mild cleaning agents like Isopropyl alcohol or Naphtha.

·         Crayon, ink, hair dye and other similar stains can be removed using a soft bristle brush or a damp cloth with a mild detergent.

Rust formation can be removed by covering the stain area using a damp cloth and bleach for not more than an hour.
